Rural Towns Development Program

2006 Community Meetings

The Rural City of Wangaratta Rural Towns Development Program aims to develop a partnership between the residents of rural communities and Council through community meetings.

Through our community consultation, residents and community groups have the opportunity to discuss their needs and plans for the future. The meetings will be chaired by a Councillor and Council staff will be present to answer questions.

Council has allocated $60,000 in its 2006/2007 budget for development in rural townships.

The priorities from each meeting may be considered for program funding or, in the case of larger projects, we will discuss how we may support your project through assistance in writing a submission to the State Government.

The Wangaratta Rural City encourages residents and representatives from community groups to attend their rural towns community meeting.

Community meetings will be held in the following rural towns during September and October.

Edi Upper - Edi Upper Hall - Wednesday 13 September - 7.30 pm

Peechelba - Peechelba Bushland Reserve - Monday 2 October - 7.30 pm
