  • Victorian Premier John Brumby has blamed Labor's dismal performance in the latest opinion poll on the damage to the Labor brand under former prime minister Kevin Rudd.
  • Mr Brumby said issues within the party at a federal level had affected the result but would not say whether he expected his government's popularity to improve under Ms Gillard.

As another unelected leader like Julia Gillard, he would say that wouldn't he. Surely, it wouldn't have anything to do with his handling of the State's water supplies - or the standover tactics being used in Parliamentary inquiries - or the ongoing corruption allegations throughout the police system.
